FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Six-time Stanley Cup winner Mark Messier will slide on into Sacred Heart University later this month to talk about his storied career.
Messier, who is now the CEO of the Kingsbridge National Ice Center, will speak on Jan. 17 as part of SHU’s Student Affairs Lecture Series.
Widely considered one of the best hockey players of all time, the former New York Rangers captain was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007.
In 2016, he established the Mark Messier Foundation to help young children become better citizens by providing access to sporting activities and promoting a healthier lifestyle.
The talk, to be held at the university’s Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, will begin at 7 p.m.
General admission tickets are $15.
